It was 50 years ago on Jan 12, 2018 that Johnny Cash played at Folsom Prison.
On this date in 1968, Johnny Cash performed his “Legendary Concert” at the infamous Folsom Prison. He recorded a double album their and later went on to play San Quentin later on.
Cash did a version of the song, “Folsom River Blues” at Folsom that went on to be published more recently too on a “Greatest Hits Collection.” On that track, it sounds like he showed the inmates a good time.
Live Pics Are Hard To Find
Cash also played at least a third prison, Cummins. It’s probably best not to look into whether he did this as a Christian or for the publicity.
