Popular Culturally Marxist Music: “All My Friends”

Finding White Pipl Music is tough these days. The “Alternative” station, for the most part, plays Pop. They play it in a format similar to a Pop station too, repeating the same songs over and over.

For myself, it’s somewhat nice to hear a more modern and relaxing sound but many of the songs push a more hedonistic lifestyle than ever. One of the songs pushing hedonism is “All My Friends” by the Revivalists, a Billboard topping band.

In this here intro below, the singer soulfully announces:

I can’t get a hold of myself
Breaking all the rules, playing games with my health
My love said you’re going off the rails
I know it’s okay ’cause I do it so well

In the meat of the song the singer, claiming to be in his twenties, gleefully sings about what can only bring destruction. Stating everyday is another day to live reckless.

I’m in my twenties, living reckless
So turn the hourglass over and let’s wreck this
It’s a brand new world, I got a brand new heart
And everyday I make a brand new start
I’m in my twenties, not in a hurry
I got a bulletproof chest so you can hurt me
It’s a brand new world, I got a brand new heart
And everyday I get a brand new start

It is highly doubtful any of these niggas is even in their twenties.

I’m Not Sure How it Takes Eight Men to Make Their Music

I guess a lot of them are the friends the the singer is talking about. A bunch of guys in their mid to late 30s pretending.

Here’s the Chorus:

All my friends take good care of me
Wherever I go they bring me home
When I got no place to be
All my friends take good care of me
They get me high, they’re on my side
As far as I can see, yeah

Which brings us back around to this again but a line about bling is added. Maybe the fucking monkey wrote it.

I’m in my twenties, I’m the future
I’m a shaker and I’m a mover
Got a vision coming from afar
Gonna take me back to where you are
I’m in my twenties, not getting restless
Got some hip now on my diamond necklace
It’s a brand new world, I got a brand new heart
And everyday I get a brand new start

Chorus (again)

Verse 1 (again)

Chorus x 2 with a slightly difference at the end.

Anyway, if you don’t listen to the radio, this is what’s out there and the guys above are what pass for as men. The two of them flanking the lead have shitty leather jackets and look beta af. While I have no problem with maroon pants for men, the singer is wafe thin and wearing suede boots in a color women and girls all over the country have played out in the form of Uggs.

Mr. Bond can’t do it all.
